Ammon was the last of his cousins to have his school year end. For some reason, his school district seemed to drag it out and he had several short days in those last two weeks. We took advantage of his half-day, and my sister-in-law brought her kids up to play. The plan had originally been to go to Heritage Park, but when they arrived, the kids were all happy to just hang out with each other and play outside. We eventually got moving, though, and still made a quick stop to ride the ponies and pan for gold. We're looking forward to several more visits over the summer.
Later that evening, we had an opportunity to have the other cousins from that side of the family visit us. We spent most of our time outside letting the kids play. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law took their two youngest children and went to a viewing down the road. They weren't gone for very long and came back and we visited for a while before they left. It was nice to have them in the area - of all our family, they are the ones we see the least.
I love that my kids have been surrounded by cousins so near in age and geography. Its a great way to raise a family!
