Geo Trax and Nap Time

A few weeks ago Andy mentioned that it would be fun to combine our Geo-Trax set with Grandma's and make an amazingly HUGE track. Ammon got wind of that idea and literally spent days begging to do it. So last week when Andy came home early from work due to a dentist appointment, we decided to pool our resources and see what we could come up with. It is an undertaking I will not volunteer for again anytime soon. It took over an hour to construct our track! We built a triple level bridge, though, and that was cool. And, as always, even though it was such a huge job, we wished for more track - I especially wish we could have built more underneath the big bridge.

In the middle of all of this, it was time for Peter to go down for a nap. Andy volunteered to take him down. It was quiet, but after not hearing from Andy for a while, I went looking. This is what I found:

Usually I enjoy playing Geo-Trax with the boys, but I have to admit, I felt a little but gyped. I was so exhausted and would have loved a nap like that. Oh well, to be fair, it seems like Peter pretty much hasn't slept since then - and Andy is the one who has taken the brunt of that. I guess I can't complain after all.

The other day Ammon brought me one of his transformers so I could help him get into "vehicle mode" and I just had to pause to relish in the fun of having boys. Although my heart sometimes longs for a daughter, I sure do enjoy my two boys. If not for them I wouldn't get to play Geo-Trax and Transformers all day. And seriously - those are some fun toys!

How cute! I love how you play with your children. They really will remember it forever. I agree that boy toys are much more fun than girl toys.

We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as an heir of eternal life. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

This proclamation was read by President Gordon B. Hinckley as part of his message at the General Relief Society Meeting held September 23, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
